Personnel Division

The Personnel Division of the Administrative Services Department provides internal support to all operating departments. The division has 3.8 employees: a Personnel Services Manager, 1.8 Senior Personnel Specialists and a Senior Office Specialist. Responsibilities include:
  • Maintenance of personnel records for the City’s full-time and part-time employees;
  • Recruitment, selection, hiring and orientation of all new employees;
  • Management of employee training and development programs;
  • Administration of the City’s compensation, classification and employee benefits programs;
  • Ensuring compliance with State and Federal employment mandates;
  • Coordination of employee safety and workers’ compensation programs;
  • Interpretation and implementation of the Memoranda of Understanding and Personnel Rules and Policies with employee bargaining units;
  • Providing staff support to the Personnel Board.
