The Fire Department is organized into four divisions: Fire Administration, Fire Operations, Training / Emergency Medical Services, and Fire Prevention. Fire Administration is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Fire Department and is under the supervision of the Fire Chief. An Administrative Assistant supports the Fire Chief and the Department with all of the clerical needs. The Department has an approximately $9.5 million dollar budget and has forty full-time employees, one part-time employee, and up to fifteen reserve volunteer firefighters. Fire Administration is located in the City Hall complex on Forest Avenue.
The Department is committed to partnering with the community to provide the best service possible. Members work each day to achieve the elements of our Mission, which is:
Our Duty is to protect lives, the environment, and property
from the threat of fire, explosion, or other disasters
through emergency action, fire prevention, and public education, and
to provide emergency medical treatment, physical rescues, and transportation
to a medical facility for the sick and the injured.
