Marine Protected Areas

Laguna Beach is a California Marine Protected Area. California has 124 of these sanctuaries where sea life habitats thrive and marine ecosystems are protected. In a Marine Protected Area, nothing can be collected, which is why you can't remove shells from our beaches or fish off our shores. For more information, watch this video from the Laguna Bluebelt Coalition, and read about Southern California Marine Protected Areas here.
