Employees in this division perform maintenance activities at 74 separate parks, beach access areas and facilities totaling more than 63 acres. City buildings approximate 60,000 square feet, including 12 public restrooms throughout the City. Part-time staff assists with litter control and downtown cleanup. The City contracts with private companies for tree trimming, custodial services at City Hall, Community Center, Corporation Yard, Lang Park, and for turf mowing in the parks.

Restrooms are open everyday from dawn to dusk. Crescent Bay Point Park is closed from 12:00 a.m. - 5:00 a.m. The Dog Park is closed every Wednesday for maintenance.

Recreational use of City parks is on a first-come, first-served basis. The City does not reserve parks for parties, events or gatherings of any kind. Permits are required for weddings, film shoots (still photos and video), and alcohol consumption on public property including parks. Alcohol consumption is not allowed on any City beach. Permits can be obtained Monday - Thursday 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. and alternate Fridays 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the Community Services Department located at the Susi Q Center at 380 3rd Street.  For questions, please call (949) 464-6645.
