2016 Police Officer and Civilian of the Year

The Laguna Beach Police Department is excited to announce our 2016 Police Officer and Civilian Employee of the Year as Detective Ashton and Administrative Assistant Jenna Moore.

The 2016 Police Officer of the Year, Detective Cornelius Ashton began his career as a police officer with the Laguna Beach Police Department on June 22, 2015. He previously served with the San Diego Community College District Police Department for sixteen years and was assigned as a detective.

Detective Ashton quickly made a name for himself at LBPD for his hard work and tenacity. As a patrol officer, he was known as someone who spent that extra time with victims explaining the legal process and what could, and could not, be done for them.

The 2016 Civilian of the Year, Jenna Moore has worked for the City of Laguna Beach since 2013 and transfered to the Laguna Beach Police Department in July 2014 as the Administrative Assistant for both Police Captains.

Over the past two years, Jenna has done an outstanding job with saving the City money by correcting inacurate bills. Jenna is someone who always is willing to assist any members in the department and welcomes new challenges. Because of that she was named to the newly formed Media Team and has assisted in the creation of public service annoucencments, the biennial report, and the department photo.

These two individuals represent the best of us! Congratulations Det. Ashton and Jenna!
