Brooks Street Surf Classic This Weekend

The 55th annual Brooks Street Surfing Classic will be held this weekend. Register on site at Brooks Street Beach. To save time you may click here to download the registration form and bring it with you. Registration closes when the heats are full. Competition begins Saturday morning and continues until Sunday afternoon.

The contest is open to residents of Laguna Beach, and features a variety of age divisions competing in short-and longboard, paddleboard, and bodyboard events.

Contestants may sign up for one event in each division, for $30 per event. The schedule will be made after all registrations have been received, with events ending at 7:00 p.m.

In addition to age division awards, contestants are also nominated for the Cy Chambers award for excellence in surfing, sportsmanship and academics, and the Thom Chambers award for excellence in surfing and the arts. An awards ceremony will be held at Laguna Beach Beer Company after the contest ends on Sunday.

For periodic updates check the City's Instagram, Facebook and Twitter feeds for the final decision @lagunabeachgov. Final results will be posted on the City website after the contest ends.

The Brooks Street Classic contest is held on a different weekend each year, depending on when the surf is forecast to be optimal.
