Holiday Palette Pick-Up Event

We are proud of our local artist community and greatly appreciate their contribution to our public art collection. The artists painted Holiday Palettes have been displayed on lampposts throughout the City during the winter season since 1965. Due to the nature of the palette materials, they are considered temporary art and have an average life span of 7 to 10 years. The Arts Commission reviews the palette collection annually to examine the state of individual palettes.

At the recommendation of the Arts Commission, City Council has approved the deaccession and removal of 40 Holiday Palettes from its collection. In accordance with the City of Laguna Beach’s deaccession policy, we are offering the removed palettes back to their original artists or immediate family members.

The City will hold a one-time collection event for artists to recover their work. Event details are as follows:
