Retired Banner Pick-Up

On December 3, 2019, the City Council approved the permanent removal of 33 artist painted banners from the City’s collection. The banners are considered temporary in nature with a life expectancy of between 7 to 10 years. Hung on lamp posts throughout the city, some banners have been weathered causing the canvas material to deteriorate or tear and the paint to peel.

In accordance with the City of Laguna Beach’s deaccession policy, the Arts Commission is offering the removed banners back to their original artists or immediate family members. The removed banners will be available to pick-up at a one-time collection event on Saturday, February 22, 2020, between 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Act V Parking lot, 1900 Laguna Canyon Road.
