What We Do 

The Code Enforcement Division preserves public safety and welfare by enforcing the  Laguna Beach Municipal Code. The Code Enforcement Policy and Procedures Manual provides a general overview of the Code Enforcement Division within the Laguna Beach Community Development Department and the policies and procedures that apply to the Division’s efforts to obtain correction of Municipal Code violations.

Report a Violation

If you would like to report a possible code violation, please call (949) 497-0301, submit an online service request through Ask Lagunaor submit a service request in person at City Hall.

How to View Notice of Violation Letters

Notice of Violation Letters and other pertinent information regarding Code Enforcement cases are part of the Public Record and can be viewed through our records portal. You can search by property address or Assessor's parcel number. If you would like to submit a Public Records Request, please contact the City Clerk's Office at (949) 497-0705.

Tenant/Landlord Disputes

Tenant/landlord issues are typically considered civil matters unless they are building safety and/or un-permitted construction issues. For more information regarding tenant/landlord issues, please visit the Fair Housing website and/or Orange County Legal Aid Society.
