Victoria Lift Station Rehabilitation

Project Description and Location

Full rehabilitation of the wastewater lift station located beneath the Victoria Beach access stairs near the intersection of Victoria Drive and Sunset Terrace. The lift station is one of the City’s oldest, originally built in 1932.

Project Scope

Replacement of all piping, mechanical and electrical equipment, and an installation of a new odor control system. An urban runoff diversion system will be installed to divert nuisance flows away from the beach.

Project Status

Construction: Fall 2020 - Spring 2021

Project Benefits

This will be the first complete overhaul of the lift station and will allow us to better serve the Victoria Beach community, which has grown since the station was originally built in the 1930s. If there were a sewage spill, the new facility will have an improved capacity to reduce the impact of that spill on the beach. In addition, the improved urban runoff diversion system will keep urban drainage from entering the beach from the sewer system.

Project Impacts

  • The Victoria Beach access stairway will be temporarily closed during construction. Victoria Beach access will be redirected to Dumond Drive during that time.
