Residents and businesses are invited to participate in the annual free Document Shredding and E-Waste Drop-off Event at the City Maintenance Facility (1900 Laguna Canyon Road) on Saturday, May 22, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., or until trucks reach capacity. We will be following COVID-19 guidelines and there is a limit of 10 standard file boxes per carload.
There will be a limit of 10 standard boxes per carload or until trucks reach capacity. For your safety and the safety of others, County COVID-19 guidelines will be followed. Please wear a face covering and stay inside your vehicle. All items for shredding must be placed in the trunk or rear compartment.
Acceptable items: Documents that you would like to have shredded and E-Waste, such as Alarm clocks, camcorders, CD players, cell phones, computer monitors, CRT’s and flat screens, computers/CPUs/Laptops, copiers, digital cameras, digital thermometers, display boards on exercise equipment, DVD players, handheld electronics, home-use medical monitors, IPods/MP3 players, microwave ovens, PDAs, programmable kitchen devices, pagers, printers/scanners/fax machines, radios of all types, stereos (no speakers), telephones/answering machines, televisions, and video game consoles.
Unacceptable Items for document shredding service:
No three-ring binders or hanging folders, file folders with metal clips, or X-rays.
Important Event Reminders:
Materials will only be accepted from vehicles. Pedestrian traffic/drop-offs are not allowed.
Personal information or data on computers and cell phones should be removed or destroyed prior to disposal.
This event is for residents and local businesses only: Please bring proof of residency or your business license number. No other hazardous waste will be accepted at the event. (See below for a detailed list of unacceptable items.)
Please do not bring: Hazardous household wastes: Batteries, smoke detectors, compact fluorescent lamps and tubes, compressed gas cylinders (aerosols are acceptable), flammable liquids, oxidizers, toxins, corrosives and state-regulated material, household chemicals/products, commercial chemicals/products, radioactive materials, sharps, expired pharmaceutical products, explosives, ammunition, large containers (over 5 gallons).
