Popular activities are surfing (south end, south of the surf flag), body surfing, and body boarding. The beach is used almost exclusively used by people of all ages who are enjoy surfing.

Hazardous and rip conditions are numerous. The whole area is a rock reef with one section of sandy bottom, and this section of sandy bottom becomes the strongest rip in town when there is large surf (just north of the tower). This rip often extends 200 yards seaward.

If you do visit this area please do not take, collect or disturb any of the marine life. The taking or collecting of rocks, shells, or marine life is prohibited. Fishing is not allowed at this beach.
