Popular activities are surfing and skim boarding. The beach is used almost exclusively used by locals of all ages who are into surfing and skimming. This is a surfing only beach during summer and is not for use by swimmers or body boarders. Swimming is permitted south of the beach (past the surf flag) at the northern end of Anita Street beach.

Hazardous and rip conditions are many, especially during large surf. The whole area is a rock reef suited for surfing and not swimming. There are designated areas for swimmers and the surfers. Swimmers are not allowed in the surfing area due to hazards from skim and surf boards.

If you do visit this area please do not take, collect or disturb any of the marine life. The taking or collecting of rocks, shells, or marine life is prohibited. Fishing is not allowed at this beach.
