George Weiss

Born in Germany and raised in Chicago, George served in the Marines and received his undergraduate degree in psychology from Loyola University, Chicago.  He left the Midwest for California in 1981. He spent over 37 years working in sales and management positions for major telecom companies, including AT&T and MCI. He managed and trained a sales group, ran budgets, and learned to balance customers’ needs with corporate’s demands. He also started and ran a small telecom consulting business. George Weiss served as Chairperson of the Laguna Beach Film Society, as Chair of the Housing and Human Services Committee, and as President of the Laguna Beach Beautification Council. George has been married for 40+ years to his wife, Deborah, an academic publisher.  Their eldest son, Rik, died from a rare disease contracted while serving in the Peace Corps.  And, their youngest son, Morgan, attended Laguna Beach High School and received his Master’s in Math Finance from Florida State University.
