The Jail’s primary mission is to discharge its legal duties and responsibilities promptly and efficiently while ensuring that individuals are provided professional and dignified treatment. The Laguna Beach Jail is staffed by fully trained custody officers. 

Jailers are responsible for the care and custody of arrestees housed by the agency until their release from custody or transfer to another agency or the court.  They also monitor inmates, control the entry and exit to jail facilities, handle inmate processing,  and maintain order in the jail.  In addition they also perform cell searches for drugs and other contraband, and inspects the facility for cleanliness.
