The Records Bureau is comprised of four full-time records specialists and two part-time police cadets. They work closely with the sworn staff to ensure timely processing of the reports and ensuring that service standards are met. They are responsible for reviewing reports, compiling the necessary documents and uploading the cases via the secure Electronic Direct Complaint system to the courts. The department's cases are handled by the Orange County District Attorney's office at the Harbor Justice Center in Newport Beach.
Records personnel process electronic citations (e-cites) which are also electronically submitted to the court. The Records Division assists with answering non-emergency phone calls and entering the calls into the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system for the Public Safety Communications Center to process accordingly. The front counter is open between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. daily. Reports can be obtained during these business hours.
