Bring unused or expired medications to the MedReturn Drug Collection box located in front of the Laguna Beach Police Department at 505 Forest Avenue. The Sharps Disposal Mail-Back Container Program offers Laguna Beach residents a safe and convenient way to dispose of sharps waste, including needles, injector pens, and syringes. The program provides containers at no charge, which can be easily returned by mail for proper disposal.

There are two methods to obtain a sharps mail-back container:

1. Pick up in person: Containers are available during normal business hours at the Public Works & Utilities Department (City Hall West, 479 Ocean Avenue).
2. Home delivery: Schedule a pickup to have a sharps disposal container delivered directly to your residence.

Residents of Laguna Beach can conveniently recycle used oil and filters through the Door-to-Door Hazardous Waste Pick-Up program. Household Hazardous Waste (HHW), including car care products like used oil and filters, requires special handling and cannot be disposed of with regular waste. The city offers residents four complimentary HHW pickups annually, with one collection per quarter. Additional pickups can be scheduled for a fee of $31.22 per collection. To arrange a HHW pickup, residents can contact Laguna Beach's dedicated Customer Service at (949) 662-3819.

Orange County residents can dispose of their Household Hazardous Waste items for FREE at any of the County's four Household Hazardous Waste Collection Centers. Proof of County residence may be requested.

These centers can accept the following flammable products:

• CO2 cartridges (lecture bottle or smaller)
• Diesel fuel
• Fire Extinguishers under 40 lbs.
• Gas/oil mix
• Helium tanks
• Home heating oil
• Kerosene
• Lighter fluid
• Propane tanks (5-gallon or smaller)
